messaging

encrypted direct messages powered by XMTP. no messages stored on praxis servers.

how it works

praxis uses XMTP — a decentralized messaging protocol that encrypts messages end-to-end. your messages are stored on the XMTP network, not on praxis servers. only you and the recipient can read them.

starting a conversation

mutual follows unlock messaging. once you and another artist follow each other, the message icon appears on their profile. click it to start a conversation. the messages page shows a two-column layout: conversations on the left, messages on the right.

features

multi-device

XMTP supports multiple installations. when you sign in on a new device, your message history syncs automatically. praxis also maintains an encrypted archive backup for recovery. if you sign in on a new device after a long time, the history sync restores your conversations.

encryption

messages are encrypted before they leave your browser. the XMTP network relays encrypted data — it cannot read your messages. praxis servers never see message content. your XMTP identity is derived from your wallet, so it is tied to your account and follows you across devices.

DMs require mutual follows. this prevents spam and ensures both parties have consented to communication.
